For guests who want a touch of an active vacation, they will enjoy a gentle one hour hike in the alluring Sounion National Park. Immersed in nature, the hike is easy for any average fit person. Guests encounter the phenomena called Chaos which seems by its bowl shape and seventy meter cliff walls to have been a cave that collapsed. It is entertaining to watch daring zip liners glide from one side of the Chaos sinkhole to the other.
The hike also includes a touch of history found in the great Lavrio Silver Mines. Guests can walk in this Open Air Museum to get a feel for the silver “factory” worked by slaves whose output fueled the economy of ancient Athens.
Two other stops on the agenda are visits to a museum with rare minerals and precious stones and the Lavrio Archaeology Museum with artifacts from this area.
The final point of interest is the incomparable Temple of Poseidon, the most alluring archaeological site in southern Attica.
A short transfer to Anavisos takes guests to a seaside fish taverna where they can eat and enjoy the scenery.
